The concert portion of the celebration, held at Broadway's New Amsterdam Theatre, featured such notable stars as George Hearn, Brian d'Arcy James, Audra McDonald, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Cynthia Nixon and David Hyde Pierce to name a few. The evening was presented by former president William Jefferson Clinton and Barbra Streisand. Following the entertainment, guests enjoyed dinner at famed Four Seasons on East 52nd Street in New York City. All proceeds benefited Young Playwrights Inc., an organization founded by Sondheim in 1981.
At left, Wonderful Town star Donna Murphy is seen above playwright Alfred Uhry (The Last Night of Ballyhoo) and Barry "Dame Edna" Humphries. Below, Sondheim is seen with long-time collaborator John Weidman.
