The Primary Stages New York premiere of Kathleen Clark's Southern Comforts, starring Penny Fuller and Larry Keith, opened Oct. 18.

After the show, guests gathered at Sarabeth's on Central Park South to celebrate the opening night performance. Judith Ivey stages the work, which began previews Sept. 26 for a limited engagement through Nov. 4 at 59E59 Theaters.

Billed as "an exploration of the intimate workings of all relationships," the two-hander is about "a widow and widower who meet later in life and find a way into each other's hearts." The play was a finalist for the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize for Playwriting.
