News PHOTO CALL: Times Square Pedestrian Mall on Broadway Is Refurnished New chairs, umbrellas and café tables have been installed in the new pedestrian mall in Times Square on Broadway between 42nd Street and 47th Street.

Part of Mayor Michael Bloomberg's "Green Light for Manhattan" plan, the initiative began Memorial Day weekend with the diversion of automobile traffic in Times Square and the temporary placement of lawn chairs. The new phase of the transformation has placed a more aesthetic surface over the street pavement as well as red and gray folding chairs, umbrellas, café tables and planters.
