News PHOTO CALL: Tony Winner Blair Brown Steps Offstage to Direct Off-Broadway’s Lovely Day Blair Brown, the well-known actress who won a Tony Award in 2000 for her performance in Copenhagen, assumed a new role – that of director – with her production of the Leslie Ayvazian play Lovely Day, which opened Off-Broadway on Jan. 22.

The play, which is running at Theatre Row’s Beckett Theatre, concerns a couple and the sequence of events that occur "when an army recruiter visits their son's high school [and] they find themselves on opposite sides of one of the most profound questions any mother or father will face,” according to production notes. At left, Brown and co-stars Deirdre O'Connell and David Rasche are seen after the performance.
