The play deals with the psychosomatic blindness found in a number of Cambodian women who witnessed the most atrocious crimes against humanity during Pol Pot's genocidal rule of Cambodia during the 1970's. Eyes of the Heart focuses on one such woman, Thida San, as she arrives in the "Little Phnom Penh" section of Long Beach California to live with her relatives. Eyes of the Heart is the first original work to be presented by NAATCO. The production is directed by Kay Matschullat, with sets by Mimi Lien, lights by Cliffton Taylor, costumes by Suttirat Larlarb, and sound by Dave Morreale.
