Contact won the FANY Award for Outstanding New Musical with Waiting in the Wings taking the Play honor and Swing! the Outstanding Revue or Unique Theatrical Experience title. Acting honors were taken home by Brian Stokes Mitchell, Toni Collette, Kevin Spacey, Harris, Michael Berresse, Karen Ziemba, Ruth Williamson and Katy Selverstone. Like a Broadway's People's Choice Award, FANYs are voted on by the membership of the Friends of New York Theatre, an organization open to all.
