Norbert Leo Butz, who previously won the hearts of audience members with turns in Wicked and Thou Shalt Not, was cited for his comedy-laden role alongside John Lithgow in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. How to Succeed… and Urinetown alum Victoria Clark garnered the award for her sensitive portrayal of a mother in Lincoln Center’s The Light in the Piazza, a role which she had played in previous productions in Seattle and Chicago.
