News Piazza's Shaddow Sings Yeston's December Songs May 19 Elena Shaddow, who played Clara in the national tour of The Light in the Piazza, performs Maury Yeston's December Songs May 19.

Shaddow is offering the Yeston song cycle at 5 PM at the Metropolitan Room in Manhattan. The performance features direction by Michael Harrington and musical direction by James Cunningham.

Originally commissioned by Carnegie Hall for cabaret singer Andrea Marcovicci, Yeston's December Songs was inspired by Schubert's "Winter Journey." Song titles include "December Snow," "Where Are You Now," "Please Let's Not Even Say Hello," "When Your Love Is New," "Bookseller in the Rain," "My Grandmother's Love Letters," "I Am Longing," "I Had a Dream About You," "By the River" and "What a Relief."

Elena Shaddow has been seen on Broadway in The Woman in White, Fiddler on the Roof, Nine, Sweet Smell of Success and Les Misérables and Off-Broadway in Water Coolers. She starred in the national tour of The Light in the Piazza and was also seen in the Paper Mill Playhouse production of "Carnival."

Maury Yeston is the award-winning composer of Nine, Phantom and Titanic.
