Film and TV star Bronson Pinchot, best known as Balki from the sitcom "Perfect Strangers" (and recent star of Broadway's Sly Fox) stars "in the updated twist to a classic fable" Dec. 4-Jan. 2, 2005.

"Chasing Nicolette is a funny and smart romantic adventure that brims with madcap chases, sword-fighting," according to the Prince. "Kellogg and Friedman bring a contemporary comedic spin to the timeless 13th-century fable 'Aucassin and Nicolette,' a story of two lovers who have to overcome race, religion, class, continents and money in order to be together. Pinchot leads the cast as Valere, the witty and chicken-hearted servant who aids the young lovers in their quest. Chasing Nicolette is fueled by a score filled with accessible and intelligent lyrics in rhyming couplets inspired by Molierean farce and Shakespearean comedy."

Opening night is Dec. 11. Chasing Nicolette debuted in 2000 at Westport Country Playhouse in Connecticut. It has been further developed for its Philadelphia premiere with new songs, an enhanced orchestra and a cast of 10. Pinchot reprises the comic role he created in the show's world premiere. Ethan McSweeny (The Best Man, Drama Desk Award) directs, and Karma Camp (Never The Sinner, Drama Desk Award) choreographs.

Composer Friedman is known for his pop and cabaret song and tunes for the movies "The Lizzie McGuire Movie" and "Aladdin and the King of Thieves."

Kellogg is a Tony Award nominee for the musical Anna Karenina. In the cast, Bill Buell is Beauclaire, Kevin R. Free is Nemur, Kingsley Leggs is King of Carthage, Mary Martello plays a Nun, Bronson Pinchot plays Valere, Jasika Nicole Pruitt plays Nicolette, Davis Duffield plays Aucassin, Dale Radunz plays Montescu, Richard White plays Valence and Rebecca Bellingham plays Gwendolyn.

Friedman's songs have been recorded by Diana Ross, Barry Manilow, Nancy LaMott, Kathie Lee Gifford, Laura Branigan, LMNT and Petula Clark, among others. His work as conductor/vocal arranger for Disney's "Beauty and the Beast," "Aladdin," "Pocahontas" and "The Hunch Back of Notre Dame," led to his writing music and lyrics for Disney's "Aladdin and the King of Thieves." He also wrote all the music and lyrics for three animated television series "Happy Ness" (ABC), "Dragon Flyz" and "Skydancers." he won The Johnny Mercer Award for Songwriter of the Year and The Backstage Bistro Award for Composer of the Year. His work has been performed at Carnegie Hall with the Boston Pops, on numerous albums and on "Touched By An Angel," "The Tonight Show," "Good Morning America" and "Live, with Regis & Kathie Lee."

In his New York theatrical debut, Peter Kellogg received two Tony Award nominations for book and lyrics to the musical, Anna Karenina. He and the composer are currently recording a CD of the score with Melissa Errico, Roger Bart and John Cullum. Peter also wrote the English lyrics and co-wrote the book for Volodya, a musical based on the life and songs of the Russian dissident songwriter, Vladimir Vysotsky, which will be produced at the Kings Head Theater in London.
