Worst onstage mishap: |
When I played Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz at a summer rep theatre in California (only about six years ago): The mishap occurred during the scene where I'm supposed to grab a bucket of water to throw on the Wicked Witch to melt her. There was no bucket. There was no water anywhere, in fact. The next line was, "I'm melting!" and she couldn't very well do it on her own, so she just stared helplessly at me. I ran into the wings and frantically spouted, "There's no water! I need water!!" More helpless staring ensued. I then grabbed my own (nearly empty) personal water bottle and ran back on stage. I then "sprinkled" the Wicked Witch with a few measly droplets from my oh-so-period plastic water bottle, and through the magic of theatre, she finally dissolved. |

A smelly, oversized bunny costume when I did children's theatre, back in the day. |
