Classic Arts News Plšcido Domingo Writing Book Called The Joy of Opera The king of the operatic multitaskers, tenor/conductor/administrator Plšcido Domingo, is now set to become an author as well. He has begun writing The Joy of Opera, a book which promises to offer insights into operas and how people can better enjoy them — as well as discussing the music business and examining what distinguishes the best singers.
Reuters reports that the book will be published in 2009 by New York publisher W. W. Norton, which has acquired global rights to the book.

According to a statement from Norton (quoted by Reuters), Domingo writes in the book, "Opera for so many people remains a mystery, a curious and strange art form when it really should be much more part of our everyday lives."
