News Plunkett, LaVoy, Young, Huff and Heidami Among NY Sundance Acting Company The Sundance Institute has announced the acting ensemble for the 2010 Theatre Lab, which is being held on Governors Island in New York harbor. The New York lab will workshop three new plays by Jason Grote, Laura Jacqmin and Harrison Rivers.

The Governors Island lab, which runs June 1-12, is the second component of Sundance's 2010 labs. The first was held at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art in North Adams, MA, in early spring. The two labs temporarily replace the annual July lab in Utah while the Sundance Resort undergoes upgrades.

The acting company includes Wade Allain-Marcus, Vanessa Aspillaga (Anna in the Tropics), Aya Cash, Caroline Clay (Doubt), Shana Dowdeswell, Jan Leslie Harding (The Green Bird), Daoud Heidami (Aftermath), Neal Huff (Take Me Out), Jake Lacy, January LaVoy (Enron), Christopher Larkin, Rory Lipede, Maryann Plunkett (Me and My Girl), Hubert Point-Du Jour, Karen Pittman (Passing Strange), Karen Young (A Lie of the Mind) and Laurie Williams (Sight Unseen).

Daniel Aukin will direct Grote's Civilization, while Mark Brokaw is set to direct Jacqmin's Look, We Are Breathing and Colette Robert will direct Rivers' When We Last Flew.

The 2010 lab will also feature a reading of the latest work from Martin Moran (Titanic, The Tricky Part) on June 5.

Beverly Emmons and Lynn Nottage serve as creative advisors. Sundance dramaturges include Morgan Jenness, Christian Parker and Lisa Timmel. Visit Sundance.org/Theatre.
