Classic Arts News Previously Unheard Recording Features Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie Uptown Records has released a rare recording of Charlie Parker performing with the Dizzy Gillespie Quintet, JazzTimes reports.
The recording, Dizzy Gillespie–Charlie Parker Town Hall, New York City, June 22, 1945, includes such songs as "A Night in Tunisia," "Salt Peanuts," and "Hot House," among others. Also featured on the recording are Don Byas on tenor saxophone, Al Haig on piano, Max Roach on drums, and Curley Russell on bass.
