News Public's 365 Plays Project First Sundays Series Returns Jan. 7 The second edition of the Public Theater's First Sundays Series, featuring plays from weeks four through eight of Suzan-Lori Parks's 365 Days/365 Plays Project, will go up Jan. 7 at 3 PM and 7 PM.

The companies presenting at the event are Galapagos Art Space (in charge of staging week four of the plays), Queens Theatre in the Park (week five), Hourglass Group (week six), Scenedowntown (week seven) and Polybe + Seats (week eight).

Parks, a Pulitzer Prize winner for Topdog/Underdog, wrote one play a day for 365 days beginning in November 2002. Each week, a different New York company takes a turn presenting a week's worth of plays.

On the first Sunday of each month, the Public Theater — which is in charge of the New York branch of the project — hosts the First Sundays Series, in which the companies that presented during the previous month come to the Public to do their presentation again.

Sixty-five theatre companies in New York are participating in the project over the course of a year. Theatres in thirteen other regional networks nationwide are also presenting the plays.
