Rob Ruggiero directs David Lindsay-Abaire's Pulitzer Prize- winning family drama that follows Becca and Howard Corbett – whose lives are shattered when they lose their young son. The TheaterWorks staging (running June 6-July 20) is a co-production with the Pittsburgh Public Theater, where Rabbit Hole plays through May 18.
Rolfsrud (The Coast of Utopia) is no stranger to the work, having understudied the roles of Becca and Izzy in Rabbit Hole's 2006 Broadway debut. Also set to appear in the production are Joey Parsons (Disorderly Conduct) as Izzy, Jo Twiss (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof) as Nat and newcomer Alec Silberblatt as Jason.
The creative team includes Luke Hegel-Cantarella (set design), Anne Kenney (costume design), John Lasiter (lighting design) and Vincent Olivieri (sound design).
Rabbit Hole earned five 2006 Tony Award nominations, including Best Play. The production starred Cynthia Nixon, John Slattery, Tyne Daly, John Gallagher Jr. and Mary Catherine Garrison. Lindsay-Abaire has also penned Fuddy Meers, Kimberly Akimbo, Wonder of the World and is at work on book and lyrics for Broadway's Shrek with composer Jeanine Tesori.
