Rebecca De Mornay, film star of "Risky Business" and "The Hand That Rocks the Cradle," will be looking for love again as the photographer Anna in Patrick Marber's biting play, Closer, opening Nov. 9 at Los Angeles' Mark Taper Forum. The production began Oct. 29 for a run through Dec. 10.

Robert Egan directs this dissection of the emotional lives of four Londoners as they use and abuse one another in a series of merry-go-round relationships. Nominated for a Tony Award for Best Play, Closer opened on Broadway March 25, 1999 at the Music Box Theatre. The show was selected as Best Foreign Play by the New York Drama Critics Circle and won London's 1998 Olivier Award for Best Play.

Marber, who directed the London and Broadway companies of Closer, is also the author of Dealer's Choice.

De Mornay is best known for playing the hooker Lana in Tom Cruise's breakout film, "Risky Business," the wife of William Baldwin in "Backdraft" and the psychotic nanny in "The Hand that Rocks the Cradle." Her TV work includes portraying Wendy Torrance, wife to the unstable writer Jack in "The Shining" and a stint as Elaine Nichols on "E.R."

Joining her in Closer will be Maggie Gyllenhaal, Randle Mell and Christopher Evan Welch. David Jenkins designed the set; Deobrah Nadoolman, the costumes; Amy Appleyard, the lighting and John Gottlieb, the sound.
