News Reddin's New, Nixonian But Not for Me Opens In CA Nov. 6 Playwright Keith Reddin latest work, But Not For Me, an examination of the early career of Richard Nixon, began performances Nov. 3 at South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa, CA. The drama will open Nov. 6 and run through Dec. 6.

Playwright Keith Reddin latest work, But Not For Me, an examination of the early career of Richard Nixon, began performances Nov. 3 at South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa, CA. The drama will open Nov. 6 and run through Dec. 6.

Greg Stuhr will play a young Nixon, engaged in the 1950 congressional campaign which come to shape the pol's career. Linda Gehringer will play Nixon's Democratic opponent Helen Gahagan Douglas, the so-called "Pink Lady." Douglas got that nickname when Nixon branded her a Communist sympathizer. Nixon's victory would launch his career as a politician.

Stuhr appeared in another Reddin play, Brutality of Fact, which played New York's Primary Stages this past season.

The cast of But Not For Me also includes David Denman, Richard Doyle and Dan Kern. David Emmes directs. Reddin's other works include The Innocent's Crusade, Rum and Coke, Life During Wartime and Black Snow.
