News Reinking to Join Vereen for a Week of Fosse, July 2-7 Fosse, the revue of Bob Fosse's dances and musical numbers that will end a two-and-a-half year Broadway run Sept. 1, isn't just dogging it in the final weeks. Guest star Ben Vereen rejoined the production May 28, and, as previously announced, Ann Reinking, who co-created, co-directed and co-choreographed the musical, is joining him for brief stints over the summer (as she did earlier this year when Vereen guested in the ensemble show).

Fosse, the revue of Bob Fosse's dances and musical numbers that will end a two-and-a-half year Broadway run Sept.

Reinking, busy preparing the European tour of Fosse, will step into the Broadway company July 2-7. Vereen will stay with the show till its finale, capping 22 previews and 1,108 regular performances at the Broadhurst Theatre.

The revue of musical numbers associated with (and mostly choreographed by) Bob Fosse won the 1999 Tony Award for Best Musical. The North American national tour continues into 2002.

The shuttering initially came as a surprise to those who perceived the show as still having — pardon the pun — "legs." For the week ending May 27, the show was playing to 90 percent of capacity, though attendance has dropped to the 60 percent mark since the Tonys. A spokesman for the show said the producers made their investment back.

August Strindberg's Dance of Death, directed by Sean Mathias, will be the next tenant at the Broadhurst. For Fosse ticket information, call (212) 239-6200.
