Producing director Marcia Seligson has announced a fundraising, one-time-only, concert production of Sunday in the Park With George on Sept 18 at Freud Playhouse on the UCLA campus. The Stephen Sondheim-James Lapine musical will benefit REPRISE! and Retinoblastoma International.
Seligson also announced that three veteran Broadway performers--Karen Morrow, Donna McKechnie and Hugh Panaro--have been cast in upcoming 2000- 2001 season productions. Morrow, who has appeared in Broadway musicals since 1964, will replace Chita Rivera as Mrs. Sally Adams in Irving Berlin's Call Me Madam, which opens the "Broadways's Best in Concert" season Sept. 13-24.
Morrow will be joined by Panaro, who recently starred in Martin Guerre at the Ahmanson Theatre. Panaro plays Cosmo Constantine.
McKechnie, best known for her performances in A Chorus Line and Company, will play Lottie Ames in Mack and Mabel, which also stars Douglas Sills. The newly revised Jerry Herman musical will be performed Nov. 8-19.
Subscriptions and tickets can be charged by calling the UCLA central ticket office at (310) 825-2101. -- By Willard Manus
