News Rice and Gardner Will Offer Sarah & Robare at the Metropolitan Room Sarah Rice, who created the role of Johanna in the original Broadway production of Sweeney Todd, will join singing actor Rob Gardner for three performances of Sarah & Robare at the Metropolitan Room.

Rice and Gardner will play the intimate cabaret Oct. 21, 28 and 29 at 9:30 PM. The show, according to press notes, evokes "the elegant music salons of a bygone era (think 'Gosford Park' or the films of Merchant Ivory), through the exquisitely lovely music of Ivor Novello, the bittersweet charm of Noel Coward, the sparkling wit of Cole Porter, the sheer delight of Victor Herbert and many other burnished gems." Dan Foster directs Sarah & Robare: The World Tour. Steve Saari will accompany the performers on piano Oct. 21; Fred Barton will play Oct. 28 and 29.

The Metropolitan Room is located in Manhattan at 34 West 22nd Street, between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. There is a $25 cover and a two-drink minimum. Call (212) 206-0440 for reservations.
