The announcement comes on the heels of Marshall's TV directing debut of the November 1999 hit, "Annie." The new pic will mark Marshall's feature film directing debut.

The yarn, executive produced by Neil Meron and Craig Zadan of Storyline Entertainment (TV's "Annie," "Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella"), concerns an animated woman who wants to escape into the real world, and is followed by her animated love interest.

Marshall choreographed "Cinderella" for TV, directed and choreographed Roundabout Theatre Company's Little Me (earning a Tony Award nomination for the dancing) and co-directed and choreographed the new Cabaret revival, earning Tony Award noms for directing and choreographing.
