News Robert Lepage to Bring Latest Production to London's Roundhouse Robert Lepage, the Canadian theatre maker who has regularly brought shows to London's Riverside Studios, National Theatre and Barbican and also directed at the Royal Opera House, is to return to the U.K. with Playing Cards 1: Spades, which will begin performances at London's Roundhouse Feb. 7 prior to an official opening Feb. 11, for a run through March 2, 2013.

The first in a planned series of four plays, each shaped around one suit in a deck of cards, it will explore the theme of war and is set in the desert city of Las Vegas at the onset of the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003.

Lepage is currently represented in Vegas by Ka, a show he created for Cirque du Soleil. He also directed the most recent Ring cycle for New York's Metropolitan Opera House.
