News Robertston Reprises Rose in Gypsy at Chicago Lincolnshire, Apr. 1 CHICAGO -- Alen Robertston, the eight-time Joseph Jefferson Award winner who was born to play Mama Rose (and, in this case, repeat the role more than a decade later) in Gypsy, is reprising her much-praised depiction of the larger-than-life stage mother of famous stripper Gypsy Rose Lee.

CHICAGO -- Alen Robertston, the eight-time Joseph Jefferson Award winner who was born to play Mama Rose (and, in this case, repeat the role more than a decade later) in Gypsy, is reprising her much-praised depiction of the larger-than-life stage mother of famous stripper Gypsy Rose Lee. Opening April 1 at Marriott's Lincolnshire Theatre, a North Shore Equity powerhouse, the 1959 musical by Jule Styne, Stephen Sondheim and Arthur Laurents futures Julie Ann Emery as Louise, Joel Hatch as Herbie, and Tesha Buss as June. Dominic Missimi directs and Kenny Ingram provides the choreography.
