HOUSTON -If ever there were a "world class" fundraiser, Main Street Theater's "An International Evening" is it.
Main Street Theater is reviving Wendy Wasserstein's Tony-nominated play The Sisters Rosensweig April 16 - May 17. The bittersweet comedy is set in London, and it's fair to say that the bickering but loving sisters are globetrotters. So, in that spirit, on Saturday, April 18, Main Street supporters who have $65 to spare can go on a whirlwind trek around the world without ever leaving Houston: dinner in "China" at Cafe Chino, a local restaurant; then a quick drive to "England" to attend The Sisters Rosensweig at Main Street Theater's Chelsea Market venue; then European desserts and liqueurs and touristy door prizes in the lobby courtesy of the Redwood Grill, an upscale joint located next to the theater.
But all is not hypothetical in this trip abroad. The $65 also includes two raffle drawing tickets for a dream vacation for two in the Bahamas. The grand prize includes airfare and five days accommodations at Paradise Island Resort. Additional raffle drawing tickets cost $7; there's no limit on how many can be purchased, and those who don't want to shell out the $65, or even see the play, can also buy them too.
