Roundabout Theatre Company has now launched a Online Subscription Service, available through their website at The Roundabout Theatre's Website.
The Roundabout's 1999-2000 season, will include the American premiere of Brian (Dancing at Lughnasa) Friel's Give Me Your Answer Do! beginning previews Sept. 10, for an opening Sept. 20; and a revival of N. Richard Nash's The Rainmaker, starring Woody ("Natural Born Killers") Harrelson at Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre in November. More shows are anticipated with the opening of The Roundabout's new Broadway space at the renovated Selwyn Theatre.
Answer, Do! is set in Donegal, Ireland where novelist Tom Connolly and his wife Daisy nervously await the decision of their American houseguest as to whether he will purchase Tom's papers for a U.S. college library -- a deal which would offer some compensation for Tom's recent literary paralysis. No casting has been announced for the Friel play, though Kyle Donnelly, a former Associate Artistic Director of Arena Stage, has been signed to direct.
Roundabout Artistic Director Todd Haimes told PBOL in February that the company was planning a three-show season at the Selwyn for the year 2000, but no word yet on what plans are.
