News RSC's Production of Matilda, A Musical To Transfer to West End in Fall The Royal Shakespeare Company has announced that its world-premiere production of Matilda, A Musical will transfer to London's West End in the fall. Dates, venue and casting are yet to be announced, but tickets are due to go on sale in May, according to a press statement from the RSC.

Matilda, a Musical, directed by Matthew Warchus with a book by Dennis Kelly and music and lyrics by Tim Minchin, premiered at the RSC's Courtyard Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon for a 12-week Christmas run from November 2010 to January 2011.

Based on Roald Dahl's novel, first published in 1988, it tells a story about a young girl with extraordinary powers.

The production is designed by Rob Howell with choreography by Peter Darling, lighting by Hugh Vanstone, musical supervision and orchestration by Christopher Nightingale, sound by Simon Baker and special effects and illusions by Paul Kieve.

No further announcements will be made until full production details are available.
