A revival of Sabina Berman's Muerte Subita (Sudden Death), opened at Mexico City's Foro Shakespeare Feb. 26 to unanimous favorable reviews from the critics.

Berman is an internationally acclaimed Mexican playwright, poet and narrator. Her plays include Entre Villa y una Mujer Desnuda, Yankee, La Grieta and La Guerra Culta.

Starring in Muerte Subita are Maria Renee Prudencio, Juan Manuel Bernal and Plutarco Haza, three of the most popular young actors at this time in Mexico. Prudencio and Haza currently star in TV Azteca's hit soap-opera "Mirada de Mujer", while Bernal has starred in several Televisa soap-operas including "Lazos de Amor" with singer/actress Lucero.

Muerte Subita concerns about the crisis of three adults in their early 30's as they try to find an explanation to their existence.

Among the stars seen at the opening night of Muerte Subita were Diana Bracho (who is now rehearsing Master Class), Mario Ivan Martinez, Maya Mishalska, Arianne Pellicer and Miguel Angel Ferriz. Directed by Francisco Franco, Muerte Subita runs at the Foro Shakespeare, located at Zamora 7, Colonia Condesa, Mexico City; Tues. at 8:30 PM, Fri. at 7 PM & 9:30 PM and Sat & Sun. at 6 PM & 8:30 PM.
