Scrooge will be raising rather than hoarding money this Christmas. Tim Piggott Smith will lead the cast of A Christmas Carol at a gala performance in aid of the Lyric, Hammersmith.
The gala takes place at the Lyric Theatre on Dec. 13. The Lyric is a lively theatre that both reflects and enhances its local community, and has a studio theatre as well as the main auditorium. It's artistic director is Neil Bartlett, who has also directed A Christmas Carol.
The money raised will be used to help the theatre's planned multi-million pound redevelopment. A Christmas Carol continues at the Lyric until Jan. 11, 2003.
