News   Seattle's ACT to Offer Ayckbourn's Intimate Exchanges
Marianne Owen and R. Hamilton Wright will portray all six characters of Alan Ayckbourn's comedy Intimate Exchanges for Seattle's A Contemporary Theatre.

ACT artistic director Kurt Beattie directs the farce that will run Aug. 15-Sept. 14. An official opening has been set for Aug. 21.

Intimate Exchanges, with its four possible endings, follows Celia, the long-suffering wife of bitter, hard-drinking headmaster Toby Teasdale, and her efforts to forge a life of her own.

The production requires Owen and Wright to portray all six characters within the play. Owen, who has appeared in ACT's The Women and Stuff Happens, will portray Sylvie, Celia and Irene, while Wright (Stuff Happens, The Pillowman) is cast as Lionel, Toby and Miles.

The various endings for Intimate Exchanges (one for each act) are performed on a rotating schedule. The first preview and opening night endings will be determined ACT artistic director Kurt Beattie.
