News Shear Madness to Play Vegas in Fall 2008 The comedy whodunit Shear Madness is scheduled to begin performances at Town Square Las Vegas in September.

Created by Marilyn Abrams and Bruce Jordan, Shear Madness holds the Guinness Book record as the first, second and third-longest running play in the history of the American theatre. The upcoming Las Vegas run will be directed by co-creator Jordan.

Casting will be announced at a later date.

Shear Madness, according to press notes, "engages visitors and locals alike as armchair detectives to help solve the scissor-stabbing murder of a famed concert pianist who lives above the Shear Madness hairstyling salon. The show combines up-to-the-minute improvisational humor and a mixture of audience sleuthing to deliver a truly unique performance each night."

In a statement Shear Madness executive producer Terrence R. Williams said, "The show's unique concept is a perfect match for the unique setting that Town Square offers. We're very excited to bring Shear Madness to Las Vegas."

Shear Madness currently has three permanent productions in the United States: in Boston; Washington, DC; and Chicago. Show times in Vegas will be Tuesday-Sunday evenings at 7 PM with matinees Saturdays and Sundays at 4 PM.

Tickets, priced $20-$69.95, will go on sale July 1 by visiting www.shearmadnesslv.com or www.vegas.com.
