Thrill-killers Leopold & Loeb tried to commit the crime of the century, which led to their executions but also a certain unfortunate immortality. Alfred Hitchcock captured them in the film "Rope" (based on a play by Patrick Hamilton), and the films "Compulsion" and "Swoon" also covered the headline grabbing trial.

The latest play about the murder is John Logan's Never The Sinner, which originated at Chicago's Victory Gardens Theatre, then played a commercial run a NY's John Houseman Theatre. Now Sinner will play Florida's American Stage Theatre, Aug. 20 - Sept. 4, as part of their New Visions series which presents "passionate, edgy works."

The first part of Sinner shows the bored, privileged and bisexual young men planning a murder; act two shows how Clarence Darrow argued to spare them from the death penalty.
