News Soho Rep's 'Summer Camp' Continues with A Phaedra Play, July 14-17 It's not the Phaedra play, but A Phaedra Play, a new work by Judy Elkan, which is the latest offering at Soho Rep's ongoing "Summer Camp" theatre festival. The new play, directed by Soho Rep artistic director Daniel Aukin, reexamines Euripides' classic tragedy about a woman who lusts after her stepson, asking the question, "Is love an illness?" It's not the Phaedra play, but A Phaedra Play, a new work by Judy Elkan, which is the latest offering at Soho Rep's ongoing "Summer Camp" theatre festival. The new play, directed by Soho Rep artistic director Daniel Aukin, reexamines Euripides' classic tragedy about a woman who lusts after her stepson, asking the question, "Is love an illness?" A Phaedra Play plays July 14-17.

"Summer Camp," produced by Stephen Rahe and Lindsay Firman, began on July 6 with a festival of one-act plays. The rest of the 1999 schedule follows:

July 21, 22, 23, & 24 at 7:30

Eating Dirt by Aya Ogawa, directed by Ron Russell

Be Aggressive by Annie Weisman, directed by Lisa Portes Two pieces will presented as part of the after hours series: The Master of Things by Scott Blumenthal July 29 at 9:30 PM and Soul Monsters by Allison Zell July 31 at 9:30 PM.
