Variety reports that Fiennes will play the wicked warlock Voldermort in "Goblet of Fire," which is due in theatres in November 2005. In the first three pictures — "The Sorcerer's Stone," "The Chamber of Secrets" and "Prisoner of Azkaban" — only Voldermort's spirit was able to wreak havoc. In the upcoming film, Voldermort will return in the flesh. Directed by Mike Newell, the cast will also include Brendan Gleeson as Mad-Eye Moody and Miranda Richardson as a gossip columnist.

A versatile London stage actor who was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, Ralph Fiennes made his Broadway debut in Hamlet, earning Tony and Theatre World Awards for his performance. He was nominated for Academy Awards for his work in "Schindler's List" and "The English Patient," and his other screen credits include "Red Dragon," "The End of the Affair," "The Prince of Egypt," "Sunshine," "The Avengers" and "Quiz Show."
