News Stage Directors and Choreographers Society Elects Leigh Silverman as VP; Election Results Announced The Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, the union that represents professional stage directors and choreographers, has announced results of its executive board elections.

Tony Award nominee Leigh Silverman, currently represented on Broadway with Chinglish, and Oz Scott (Resurrection), were elected to serve three-year terms as vice president and secretary, respectively. The results were announced during SDC's Nov. 14 membership meeting.

General election results were also announced. San Jose Rep artistic director Rick Lombardo will serve as Southwest regional representative; and former Hangar Theatre artistic director Robert Moss will serve as the Northeast regional representative.

Pasadena Playhouse artistic director Sheldon Epps, Westport Playhouse artistic director Mark Lamos and Tony Award winner John Rando were elected to the general board at-large; while at-large incumbents including Tony winner Rob Ashford, Ethan McSweeny, Tom Moore, Lisa Peterson, Seret Scott, Leigh Silverman and Chay Yew were re-elected.

Tony winner Doug Hughes was the recipient of the President's Award for Extraordinary Service; and, as previously reported, After the Revolution director Carolyn Cantor and Off-Broadway Rent choreographer Larry Keigwin received the 2011 Joe A. Callaway Awards during the meeting.
