What show recently impressed you?
Peter and the Starcatcher. Rick Elice's writing is so lovely, coupled with Roger Rees' brilliant direction. I found myself thinking, "How did they think of that?!" Imagination seems to be such a driving force in that play, I believe I may have left the theatre younger than when I arrived.
What production are you most excited to see?
Newsies! I love anything Disney, and I have been waiting patiently for them to adapt one of my all-time favorite childhood movies to the stage. Still haven't had a chance to go, though!
What play/musical would you most like to revive on Broadway, and which role would you want to play?
I'd love to revive Kate in [Andrew] Lippa's Wild Party, or Sally Bowles in Cabaret. "Life of the Party" and "Maybe This Time" are two of my favorite songs to sing, so doing them every night would be a dream come true!
What are your current/upcoming projects?
I put out a country album earlier this year, so in addition to being the Mistress in Evita every night, I've been doing concerts all over the city. I have an upcoming show at Birdland on Oct. 28 at 6 PM. Also, I'll be releasing my very first music video for the title track of my album "Live the Dream" very soon. So keep an eye out!
