What show recently impressed you?
In addition to acting, I'm a member of the BMI Musical Theatre workshop and have met some fantastic writers who are constantly presenting their work in various forms throughout the city. Recently I've been inspired by a concert of songs by Joe Kinosian and Kellen Blair, a reading of a new musical by Adam Overett, and a presentation by this year's Fred Ebb Award winner, and one of my collaborators, Sam Willmott.
What production are you most excited to see?
There are so many things! I'm very excited to see Giant at the Public and The Mystery of Edwin Drood. I'm also looking forward to seeing Billy Porter in Kinky Boots!
What play/musical would you most like to revive on Broadway, and which role would you want to play?
I've always wanted to play The Baker in Into the Woods (I know it's been revived a bunch!) and Charley Kringas in Merrily We Roll Along...and I'd love to play Eugene Morris Jerome in Neil Simon's Biloxi Blues.
What are your current/upcoming projects?
I'm currently playing Matthew Broderick, Ricky Martin, Mandy Patinkin, Stephen Sondheim, Harvey Fierstein and many others in Forbidden Broadway: Alive and Kicking! It's such a blast to be able to do so much in one show. As for upcoming projects, I'm working on developing more interest for my family musical, Yo, Vikings!, and writing some new work!
