What show recently impressed you?
I have so many friends performing in shows right now. Unfortunately, it's been hard to catch them all because they have the same performance schedule as Motown. I was blessed to catch a play my friend Tarrell Alvin McCraney wrote called Choir Boy over at MTC. OMG! I was blown away by the talent of the cast. I laughed, I cried, and laughed, and cried some more! Even though I know him, Tarrell's writing never ceases to amaze me! He's just that guy.
What production are you most excited to see?
Patina Miller is doing her thing in Pippin. I can't wait to see it and scream until I have no voice... well, maybe not that far. But I'm definitely gonna scream! I can't wait... I've heard nothing but amazing things.
What play/musical would you most like to revive on Broadway, and which role would you want to play?
This is the hardest question to answer because there are so many greats! I would love to play Tony in West Side Story, Paul in Six Degrees of Separation, and I would love to also tackle the role of Hamlet.
What are your current/upcoming projects?
Motown keeps me pretty busy these days, but I'm also writing a television pilot and in the studio writing some music. I love to perform, but being on the other side of the table as a creative is also a position I love to exist in.
