News Stars of Avenue Q Advance to "America's Got Talent" Semifinals Howie Michael Smith and Christian Anderson, who played Princeton/Rod and Nicky/Trekkie Monster, respectively, in Avenue Q, made a third appearance on "America's Got Talent" Aug. 18.

Smith and Anderson's new characters, Ira and Miriam Fennelbloom, took to the stage to cover Tom Jones' "It's Not Unusual" with some of their puppet friends. Their performance landed them a spot in "AGT"'s semifinal round. 

Avenue Q is currently playing at New World Stages. The cast includes Elizabeth Ann Berg, Kerri Brackin, Grace Choi, Ben Durocher, Jason Jacoby, Nick Kohn, Danielle K. Thomas, Katie Boren, Imari Hardon, Michael Liscio, Jr. and Jed Resnick.
