CHICAGO -- Step Right Up, a local comedy company that performs at the Victory Gardens Studio Theatre, has explored a new source for comedy improvisation--lifestyle memories. They hope to tap into the collective experience of a specific generation for comic development. Opening Jan. 16, Commedia dell'High School is set in a 1980s high school riddled with teenage angst and ruled by MTV, Animotion and Quiet Riot. Twentysomething audiences are encouraged to share their best and worst recollections for comic consumption. Well, even slackers may have to laugh.
