The tour is being arranged by The Booking Group. Solomon, creator and star of Italian + Jewish = Therapy, will tour with the show and his role in the open-ended Off-Broadway production at the Little Shubert Theatre will be recast later this year. The show is directed by John Bowab. The scenic design is by Ray Klausen, lighting design is by Brian Nason and sound design is by Carl Casella.
Italian + Jewish = Therapy, according to press notes, "relate to the wacky side of the human condition, combining comic voices, sound effects and astounding characters — bringing alive a myriad of people from all walks of life."
About his show, Solomon said in a recent statement, "It's so exciting to be bringing my show home to New York with such a talented group of professionals — especially my new director, John Bowab. Now, each and every one of the 30+ characters from my past that I bring to life on stage, can sue me personally for defamation of character. Come to think of it, even my ex’s attorney will know where I'll be most nights. . . . Maybe I should re-think this a bit."
My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish & I'm in Therapy! plays Wednesday-Saturday evenings at 8 PM and Sundays at 7:30 PM with matinees Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 3 PM. Tickets, priced $35-$65, are available by calling (212) 239-6200. The Little Shubert Theatre is located in Manhattan at 422 West 42nd Street.
