The 3 PM reading at Manhattan Theater Club Studio 2 will boast the talents of Sarah Stiles (Vanities, Avenue Q), Todd Buonopane (Grease, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Anthony Holds (Pal Joey, Spamalot) and Anastasia Barzee (White Christmas, Urinetown). Dani Girl features a score by Michael Kooman with book and lyrics by Christopher Dimond. "In this dark musical comedy," press notes state, "Dani, a precocious nine year old, finds herself face to face with a life-threatening disease. Together with her teddy bear, imaginary guardian angel, and socially awkward hospital roommate, she embarks on a magical quest to reclaim her health. As she traverses the realms of fantasy and reality, Dani discovers what it means to really live."

The musical has been developed and workshopped at American Conservatory Theatre, the Kennedy Center and the ASCAP/Disney Musical Theater workshop.
