The Oct. 9 signing of "The Importance of Being Barbra" will begin at 6:30 PM. The signing is being held the same evening as Streisand's New York concert appearance at Madison Square Garden. Santopietro's 228-page book was recently released by Thomas Dunne Books/St. Martin's Press. The author divides his Streisand exploration into several chapters — including Recordings, Film, Television, Concerts, Theater and Politics — and chronicles her entire award-winning career. "The Importance of Being Barbra" retails for $22.95.
