News Sunset Boulevard Begins Chicago Run, Featuring Christine Sherrill, Will Ray, Dara Cameron, Don Richard Drury Lane Theatre's new Chicago-area production of Sunset Boulevard plays Jan. 24-March 24. Sherrill appeared in the national tour of Mamma Mia! and Marriott Theatre's Legally Blonde and Xanadu. Ray appeared in Allegiance at The Old Globe and the national tour of Little House on the Prairie. Opening night is Feb. 1.

Sunset Boulevard, based on the 1950 Billy Wilder film about a desperate screenwriter's encounter with a reclusive, deluded, aging silent-movie star, will be directed by William Osetek.

The musical won seven Tony Awards in 1995, including Best Musical. The show has music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, book and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton.

The new Oakbrook Terrace, IL, production also features Don Richard (national tours of Sunset Boulevard and Wicked) as Max; Jonathan Weir (Candide and A Christmas Carol at The Goodman Theatre) as Demille; Dara Cameron (Hero at Marriott Theatre) as Betty Schaeffer; Adrian Aguilar (Follies at Chicago Shakespeare) as Artie; and David Kortemeier (Gypsy and Spamalot at Drury Lane Theatre) as Hog Eye. The ensemble includes Larry Adams, William Carlos Angulo, Amy Brophy, Gary Carlson, Devin DeSantis, Ariane Dolan, Cory Goodrich, Rachel Klippel, Andrew Lupp, Alex McCrary, Alex Newkirk, Amy Orman, Sarah Page, Paula Scrofano, Jill Sesso and Will Skrip.

Jeff Award winner Roberta Duchak (Xanadu, The Sound of Music, Sweeney Todd, Ragtime and Spamalot at Drury Lane Theatre) is musical director.

Jeff Award winner Tammy Mader (Hairspray at Drury Lane Theatre) choreographs. The creative team also includes set designer Scott Davis; lighting designer Rita Pietraszek; sound designer Ray Nardelli; and costume designer Theresa Hamm.
