News Sunset Boulevard, With Emmy-Winning Soap Star Kim Zimmer, Opens at the Michigan Barn Theatre Emmy Award-winning "One Life to Live" and "Guiding Light" veteran Kim Zimmer steps into the flickering light of a bygone era as Norma Desmond in the Barn Theatre production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Tony Award-winning musical Sunset Boulevard, which officially opens Aug. 23 in Augusta, MI.

Hans Friedrichs directs the musical based on the Billy Wilder film noir classic. It plays through Sept. 4 in the famous venue outside of Kalamazoo, in western Michigan. Sunset Boulevard has music by Lloyd Webber with book and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton.

Zimmer is making her eighth appearance at the Barn, having starred there in Gypsy, The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas, Jake's Women, Blood Brothers, Lost in Yonkers, Damn Yankees, Shirley Valentine and opposite Tom Wopat in The Rainmaker. She is well known for playing Reva Shayne on "Guiding Light" and can currently be seen as Echo DiSavoy on "One Life to Live."

Joining Zimmer are Eric Parker as Joe Gillis, Roy Brown as Max, Elyse Moon as Betty Schaeffer, Jame Grisham as Artie and Charlie King as Cecil B. DeMille.

The Sunset Boulevard ensemble includes Ryan Brennan, Katrina Chizek, Melissa Cotton, Bethany Edlund, Brian Graziani, Amy Harpenau, Miriam Henkel-Moellmann, Patrick Hunter, Michael Wilson Morgan, Nicholas J. Pearson, Jenna Petardi, Kristin Ross, Meg Schneider, Emily May Smith, Natalie Sparbeck, Eric Tsuchiyama and David Vogel.

The production has costume design by Michael Wilson Morgan, scenic design by Steven Lee Burright, lighting design by Jenny Nicholas, sound design by Sam Silva and properties by Amy Harpenau. Sunset Boulevard has choreography by Jamey Grisham and musical direction by John Jay Espino.

Sunset Boulevard premiered in London in 1993 prior to arriving on Broadway in 1994. It earned Tony Awards for Best Score, Best Book, Best Scenic Design, Best Lighting Design, Best Actress (Glenn Close) and Best Musical.
