Elliott replaces Liz McCartney, who left the production after the Dec. 1 performance for maternity leave. McCartney is expected to return to the musical at the Plymouth Theatre Jan. 6, 2004. Although there have been rumors that producer Rosie O’Donnell would step in during McCartney’s absence, a Taboo spokesperson told Playbill On-Line Dec. 2 that O’Donnell currently has no plans to join the cast.
Elliott, who is making her Broadway debut in Taboo, recently finished a tour in Beauty and the Beast.
The O'Donnell-produced Taboo began previews at the Plymouth Theatre Oct. 24 and officially opened Nov. 13. Tickets, priced between $80 and $100, are available by calling (212) 239- 6200 or by logging on to www.telecharge.com
