News Tails — A Dog Story — to Play 45th Street Theatre Tails, a musical about five pooches in a dog pound awaiting adoption, will play the 45th Street Theatre beginning April 27.

The new musical features a book and lyrics by Mark Masi with music by Jess Platt. The five actors who create a selection of canines — including a high-stepping showdog and an angry pitbull — are Miguel Cervantes, William Thomas Evans, Judith Greentree, Ron Kidd and Tracey Stephens. The limited engagement of Tails will play through May 14 with an official opening set for April 29. The creative team for the production comprises Christopher Scott (director and choreographer), Mary Feinsinger (musical director), Alex Yagupsky (associate musical director), Peter Feuchtwanger (set and light designer), Cheryl McCarron (costume designer) and Ray Shilke (sound designer).

Tails will play Thursdays-Saturdays at 8 PM with matinees Saturdays and Sundays at 3 PM. Tickets, priced at $18, are available by calling (212) 352-3107.

The 45th Street Theatre is located in Manhattan at 354 West 45th Street.
