Classic Arts News Teatro Col‹n to Refund Tickets Voided by 2005 Strikes Buenos Aires's Teatro Col‹n will refund tickets for events cancelled during strikes late last year, the Spanish website mundoclasico.com reports.
Performances were suspended in October of 2005 following a series of staff strikes over salaries and working conditions. Several productions, including Puccini's Turandot and Tchaikovsky's ballet The Nutcracker, were subsequently cancelled. One of the strikes also disrupted a festival organized by pianist Martha Argerich in September.

Performances resumed at the Teatro Col‹n on November 21, the Buenos Aires newspaper Clar‹n reported at the time.

Patrons will be offered a choice of alternate concert dates, including Turandot this coming November. Patrons holding unused tickets to Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra concerts will be able to attend select concerts between July and November.
