News The Boy From Oz Recoups Investment Hugh Jackman's golden touch is official. The Boy From Oz, the musical he fashioned into a popular hit through his Tony-winning performance, has recouped its investment.

The news was announced on Sept. 8, just four days before the show is set to close. The show had a capitalization of $8.25 million.

A press statment said that Oz broke Imperial box office records an unprecedented 11 times. Jackman's charismatic performance and personality has widely been credited with turning the critically drubbed Oz into the crowd pleaser of the 2003-04 Broadway season.

Other recent Broadway shows to have announced their recoup include the Tony Award winning musical Avenue Q and the revivals of A Raisin in the Sun and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
