Based at The Baryshnikov Arts Center in NYC, the goal of the summer training is to educate, develop and strengthen the skills of young dancers, singers and actors, who will be instructed by top theatre professionals.

Instructors during The Broadway Experience's inaugural summer season boasted such Broadway artists as Norm Lewis, Casey Nicholaw, Karen Ziemba, Jen Bender, Brian Hill, Josh Rhodes, Ginger Thatcher, Tara Young, JT Egan, Bahiyah Sayyed-Gaines, Julie Barnes, Matt Loher, Ron De Jesus and Luis Salgado. Those who will be taking part in the 2009 program will be announced at a later date.

On The Broadway Experience website, actor-singer-dancer Hartley writes, "I created this program with the intent to educate, develop and strengthen skills as dancers, singers and actors by giving selected students an insight into what it takes to have a successful career in musical theatre. Over the course of one week, students will undergo an intense study of theatre arts, learning skills to help them become better, stronger performers. Upon completion, they will have a full understanding of the tools required to enable them to become true triple threat performers."

Ben Hartley has been seen on Broadway in The Little Mermaid, Swan Lake, Fiddler on the Roof, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and the City Center Encores! staging of Follies. His other theatrical credits include Cats, Fosse, Cinderella, The Carman, The Most Happy Fella, Pirates and Hello, Dolly! Hartley has also performed with the Met Opera Ballet and the English National Ballet.
