The world-premiere production of Audrey Cefaly’s new play The Gulf bows September 13 at the Signature Theatre in Washington, DC.
Directed by Joe Calarco, who also directed the Signature’s production of the Pulitzer Prize-winning The Flick, The Gulf is a comedy set on the Alabama Delta.
When the motor breaks on Betty and Kendra’s fishing boat, the stranded duo are forced to confront their tremulous relationship and the tumult of the Gulf.
The production stars Rachel Zampelli and Maria Rizzo and plays through November 6. Specialty-night talk backs will be held after the performances September 28 and October 4 and 5. September 30 and October 21 are designated Pride nights, and the theatre offers opened caption performances October 23 and 25.
